This is our One Day that we promote for our end of the year missions offering. This is the day that we support three Big Mission Efforts.
1. Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions
We along with 40,000 other Southern Baptist Churches give to this offering to help support our almost 4,000 missionaries all over the globe. This offering goes directly to support our missionaries. You are supporting their salaries, giving them security training for dangerous areas, and survival training for those who serve in jungle areas. Also you help provide the technology to spread the Gospel to areas that are unreached.
» $45 for one MP3 Bible device for a new believer in East Asia
» $50 for a solar audio player for unreached peoples in South Asia
» $350 for 100 SD cards in sub-Saharan Africa
2. Dr. Karla Escalante, Physician Missionary in Nicaragua
We along with Henderson Hills Baptist Church support Dr. Karla in Nicaragua. She is one of the greatest assets of reaching people with the Gospel that the country has experienced in a while. Many people receive free or reduced price fees for her care, and everyone whether they can pay or not she will pray with, and if they are willing she will share the Gospel.
Hundreds have come to know Jesus through her ministry, and while she is a great Doctor, she is also a wonderful missionary to her own people.
$564 a month pays for Dr. Karla to treat patients 3 days a week at the clinic in Somotillo. That is $47 a day she is paid to see patients, and many of them never pay her a dime, simply because they can't afford it.
3. Local Missions
Concord's local missions will help families who are in need, support the Salvation Army and Operation Love in Action.
